Co Curricular Activities

Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School holds and organises a plethora of events annually. They include assemblies, sports, cultural days, various awareness programmes, literary activities, Bible day, cleanliness drive, state, national and international important days etc.

Twice a week assemblies are held in the school ground. Other days assemblies are held in the classroom beginning with singing the school theme song, reading Bible verse and saying the Lord’s prayer. For effective implementation of school co-curricular activities, the school is divided into sub-units called houses. There are four houses viz. Red house, Blue house, Green house and Yellow house. These houses coordinate and conduct various co-curricular activities in the school. Each house is headed by a convenor. They appoint a captain and two vice captains to each house for a better coordination of their particular house. Each house takes the initiatives and charges for the smooth conduct of social work on everyday basis. In turn they carry out cleanliness work in the school and its premises. They also help in the conduct of the sports and other activities.

 

The school organizes many programmes annually. Some of them include –

Environment Day

On this day, tree plantation, essay competition, cleanliness activities, seminars, etc are conducted

Mother's Day

On this day, to honour and cherish the motherhood, special greetings cards are made to the mothers and special prayers are held in the class-room.

Felicitation cum Fresher's Day

On this day, students who secured top in HSLC and HSSLC examination and in various subjects, and their teachers behind their success are honoured with mementos, certificates and cash awards. On the same day, fresher’s day is also held welcoming the new intakes to the class XI.

Teacher's Day

The school takes special pride in celebrating the Teacher’s Day on 5th September with great pomp and splendour. On this day a grand feast is thrown besides honouring the teachers with special gifts. Plays, songs, dramas, skits and other items are organised by the students and teachers on this occasion.

Children's Day

The school takes special care of its children. The school on 14th November observes as Children’s Day to the mark the occasion of Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday by organising various programmes to entertain the students.

Sports Day

To showcase its physical fitness, the school holds sports week every year. During sports week, the students participate in various events like football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, track and events etc.

Others

Besides all these notable activities, the school undertakes charity activities like visiting orphanages, organises special programmes like extempore speeches, debate, hand washing day, constitution day, book fair day, vaccination day etc. Thus, with the fruitful activities and remarkable observation of events, the Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School today stands as one of the leading school in Nagaland.
